FRANK MEEKER has been a faithful community servant, and steward of public trust consistently involved in our local communities for over 30 years. Frank J. Meeker is a Certified Environmental Professional who has lived and worked in Flagler County for 30 years. Frank and his wife Debbie have been married since 1978, have two sons, a daughter-in-law and three grand children. Frank has degrees in advanced environmental science and planning, having earned a B.S. Degree in Environmental Science and an M.S. in Coastal Resources, both from the Florida Institute of Technology. A recognized expert in permit acquisition, environmental regulations & compliance, operations, and management, Frank also has considerable training in budget preparation and capital projects management. Frank also served as the District Ombudsman for the St. Johns River Water Management District and is now on the St. Johns River Alliance Board. Frank has proven himself to be a results oriented manager addressing concerns for the people and is published in a number of technical, environmental and regulatory publications. Service on numerous legislative committees including the Florida Senate Natural Resources Wetland Delineation Subcommittee, Senate Solid Waste Recycling Committee, and Senate Wetland Action Committee. Local experience includes Palm Coast Planning and Land Development Review Board , Palm Coast Community Service Corporation Board of Directors, Member of original Palm Coast Utilities Advisory Committee, Flagler County Commission Landfill Selection Group, Charter member of the Palm Coast Jaycees, past president of Flagler United Soccer. Certified Environmental Professional, member of the American Planning Association, Regular and Advanced Graduate of the League of Cities Institute for Elected Officials, Certified County Commissioner. Frank believes that government closest to the people governs best. Strong Home Rule powers ensure that government stays close to the people. That’s why he took on the Legislature’s pre-emption of local authority passed back in 2011. Frank thrives on Home Rule solutions for Flagler\'s most pressing issues. He is a staunch advocate of a balanced budget and a strong proponent of the Constitution of the United States. He also believes that rules and regulations should be as short as possible, understandable, and accomplish the needed goal of the ordinance. Codes are a necessary protection to keep property values high, but must be understandable. Projects Important to Flagler’s Future include: A new jail and Sheriff’s Operations Center, The Malacompra North Drainage Project, Fire Station on the West Side, Palm Coast Library Expansion, Coastal Stabilization and Beach Restoration.
