Dominique Brown, Esq. is a lifelong Democrat who was raised in Manatee County, she has two sons, Malachi and Micah. She is the owner of two small businesses, The Dream Law Firm, PLLC and Dream, Succeed, Become LLC.

Dominique began her career in public service by joining the United States Air Force (USAF) at the age of 17.  She received an Honorable Discharge for her service in the USAF (Active Duty and Reserves), after serving for 12 years and also serving a combat tour in Kandahar, Afghanistan (2007).

Prior to returning to Manatee County, she earned a Bachelor of Criminal Justice and Master of Applied Social Science - Criminal Justice, from FL A&M University in Tallahassee. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from NC Central University in Durham, NC. Dominique is licensed to practice law in Florida (including the federal bar: US District Court Southern District of Florida), North Carolina, and Washington D.C.  After becoming a licensed Attorney in N.C. she continued her public service career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office.

Most recently, Dominique served as an Assistant Regional Counsel (part time) for the Second District of Florida's Office of Regional Counsel.

Dominique is active in the community. She serves as the Secretary for Memphis Washington Park Neighborhood Association (Palmetto, FL). She is also a member of the following organizations: Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Gamma Rho Zeta Chapter (Manatee/Sarasota Chapter), Florida Association of Women Lawyers (Manatee Chapter), S.W.A.T. Networking.

The majority of Dominique's adult life has been spent serving her country and her community.  By electing her as County Commissioner for District 1, she will work hard to make sure that the constituents of this District's voices are heard, that the Board is being fiscially resposible with taxpayers' dollars, and that we stay Focused on the Future while not forgetting our past.
