Candidate: Mandy Shafer

If you could pick one word to describe me best, passionate would be the sentiment of most who know me. My true mission in life is to ensure I live one with courage, boldness, and an unwavering stance for truth without exception! 

I am running for St. Cloud City Council, Seat 2, because I love my home. I have called Florida home since 1982 and St. Cloud is where I grew up, met my husband, where my son was born and where my roots run deep!

I attended Lakeview Elementary, St. Cloud Middle School, and graduated from St. Cloud High School. I have been married to my husband for 22 years and we have a son, who is 16. Before my son was born, most of my career involved managing various chiropractic offices. Currently, I manage our small business while I finish homeschooling our son through his last couple years of high school.

I am not a politician; I have never run for office. What I am is a wife, a mom, a friend, and a citizen who loves where I grew up. I want to work hard to ensure that St. Cloud remains a safe and flourishing city so that the rising generation who wants to call St. Cloud home, will have more opportunities than I did.

We live in a Constitutional Republic and the only way that system of government works is when its citizens are involved in their communities. A quote that motivates and encourages me daily is by John Quincy Adams:

"Duty is ours; results are God's."

I look forward to meeting citizens on this campaign journey and listening to what their concerns are!
