Candidate's Statement

Vice-Mayor Olga Lucia Castaño was born in the city of Armenia, Colombia, and immigrated to New York City in 1981.
She is the mother of two exceptional children, Karen and Giovanni, and enjoys spending time with her beautiful grandchildren.

As a Vice-Mayor in the city of Kissimmee she represents the local government and the residents of the community in Kissimmee. 

She has been dedicated to serving the community for more than 28 years and believes that active participation is the key. She understands that community participation has a beneficial effect on people's path to good economic development. She wants to emphasize that successful business, nonprofit organizations, churches, and local families have incredible potential to revitalize the economy. She asserts that this set of efforts increases employment and invests in a more stable community, strong family values, and a bright future for generations to come. 

In addition to her role as a Vice-Mayor, she is a professional Real Estate Agent with over 18 years of experience; one of her goals is to encourage families to achieve the American dream of homeownership.

Board  member of the Public Policy Committee for Osceola County Association of Realtors.
Board  member of  Tourist Development Council (TDC). 

Vice-President of the Agro-food Council of  Las Americas and the Caribbean in Kissimmee Florida for Colombia.

Graduated as an Osceola Community Leader in 2021.

 Founder  of the Colombo American Chamber of Commerce in Orlando Florida. 
Recognized by CCAP organization as a Community Leader Advocate in 2018.
Recognize by other organizations for her Leadership and Commitment to the Community. Recognized by the organization Nuevo Sendero (New Path) for a Voluntary Spirit of Change in 2012.
Developed a program called "Learn How to live in Florida" in 2016.
Started workshops for Small Business Round Tables to support the business in Kissimmee, bringing the necessary tools  that the City, the County, and other organizations offer, since 2021.
Member of Osceola County Association of Realtors (OSCAR) since 2005.

Volunteer for Nuevo Sendero (A non-profit organization that educates the Community in the Prevention. Of  Domestic Violence & Sexual Abuse)

Volunteer for CCW at St Rose of Lima Church, and other Churches. (Volunteer with the church’s Food Pantry, and the development and implementing events to help raise money for the Food Pantry and its outreach programs).
