Candidate: Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson, affectionally known as "MJ" by friends, family, and work colleagues, is asking for your vote to serve on the Jackson County School Board for District 5. After working almost 23 years for Wal-Mart, he has chosen to retire and would like to serve the community full-time as an active School Board Member. In addition to working at Wal-Mart, Michael also spent 31 years working at Sunland Center Agency for Persons with Disabilities where he completed several courses in behavior management and business management. Michael is a graduate of Grand Ridge High School and resides in Grand Ridge with his wife of 31 years. He has spent time serving in the community as a former President of the Jackson County Growers Association and as former President of the Grand Ridge PTO. Currently Michael serves as Chairman of the Jackson County Planning Commission and is on the Board of Directors for the Marianna Optimist Club. Michael is looking forward to continuing to serve the community and the citizens of District 5. His personal goal is to help improve the quality of our children's education and the work environment of our teachers. He believes it would be an honor to represent the citizens of District 5 and humbly asks for your vote on August 23, 2022.
