I am the right candidate for the IRCHD Board, presently retired, I am an accomplished executive offering 40+ years, 20 of which were and are in the nonprofit sector, including, as a board director for the Department of Children and Families (DCF).My focus was and continues to be in the areas of Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Mental Health. Progressive experience, adept at managing operations, financial administration, including a 30 million budget, along with other key program areas. Decisive and experienced in impacting business direction and performation with successful leadership strategies, tactical decision making and forward thinking approaches. Proven history of improving operations and boosting financial health through strong leadership.
The County needs a Medically Managed Inpatient facility for those impacted by alcoholism or drug addiction. There would be 24 hour nursing and, daily physician care with counseling available. The othe thing lacking is a Residential/Inpatient facility for those suffering with a mental illness. This facility would provide psychological and psychiatric care. Legth of stay 7-30 days.
Rather than approach each as a fully taxpayer-funded cost center, it could be done as a public/private partnership, where the facility would be a profit center giving it the resources to hire quality staff and provide treatment with dignity and respect. A public/private partnership would have a certain percentage of allocated beds as well as allocated profit, which could then be used for the appropriate level of treatment following detox
I look forward to serving the County as a Board Member of the Indian River Couty Hospital District
