Candidate: Thomas Kenny

Thomas Kenny was born and raised in Falls Church, Virginia just outside of our Nation’s Capitol, Washington, DC. He received his degree from George Mason University in Broadcast Marketing and Media Analysis. Already working full-time at 105.1 FM WAVA in Washington DC for Salem Communications, Mr. Kenny joined Salem’s newly formed Salem Satellite Media venture to launch three channels in partnership with XM Satellite Radio. In 2005, Mr. Kenny joined XM Radio full-time.

Following his time with XM Radio, Mr. Kenny started his own, media consulting firm focused on live broadcast and and multi-media presentations. For the next 5 years, Mr. Kenny worked in live television, radio and corporate events. Mr. Kenny also was able to pursue his passion concerning politics, and followed the footsteps of many conservatives.  He is also an alum with the Leadership Institute, founded by Morton Blackwell who led the Reagan college movement during the 40th President’s campaign in 1980. The Leadership Institute focuses students to read history and civic writings, active campaigning, media presentations and social media messaging.

In 2014, Mr. Kenny and his wife of 27 years, Angela, moved out of the Washington, DC area to Vero Beach, Florida. Mr. Kenny continues to work in media and corporate events as an independent business owner. Their family moved to Vero Beach as well and actively volunteer in the community. Mr. Kenny has also volunteered in Vero Beach including coaching soccer with IRSA and working with Freedom Church’s outreach, Recovery Radio One, a broadcast media supporting their addiction recovery programs.

As a hobby, Mr. Kenny reads American history. He hopes to see youth enjoy the freedom and liberty that he has found and learned growing up in the United States. Mr. Kenny firmly believes public educators should teach children the principled advantages & opportunities our country offers everyday to reach their fullest potential.
