Personal Information: Birth Place: Harvey, Il. Married: Christine, 29 years. Children: Son Craig, Pilot with Spirit Airlines,married (Magan) with three children. Daughter Kara, a Dental Hygienist, married (Billy) with two children. Resides: Punta Gorda I have resided in Charlotte County for 38 years, after moving here from Illinois in 1974, at the age of fourteen, with my parents and two brothers. I graduated from Charlotte High School in 1978, and began working in the local construction industry. In 1982 I joined the Charlotte County Sheriff\'s Office Reserve Unit and soon after I was as a full-time Deputy Sheriff. After fifteen years of service, I chose to take an early retirement and pursue an opportunity of self-employment in the trucking industry. I operated Kevin C. DeVries Trucking, Inc. from March 1997 until August 2010. I am presently employed by D.M. Construction Corp. in Punta Gorda. It is not just my long-time residency that fuels my interest in seeking this position, my candidacy is based first, and foremost, on my desire and willingness to serve the citizens of Charlotte County. Through my work in Law Enforcement, and as a business owner, I have acquired the management skills necessary to administer the responsibilities of the Supervisor of Elections. As a Deputy Sheriff, I have held a position of public trust. I was sworn to uphold and act within local, state, and federal laws and to defend your Constitutional Rights. As Supervisor of Elections, I will have that same level of commitment in carrying out the responsibilities of this important position. I have had the privilege of serving the citizens of Charlotte County as a Deputy Sheriff for fifteen years.
