Candidate: Ken Doherty

Ken Doherty was raised in the suburbs of Boston, and received a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 1972. He moved to Charlotte County in April, 1973. Ken and his wife Nancy reside in Deep Creek; in the home where they raised their three sons. The couple also have two grandchildren. Now retired, his professional engineering resume includes serving in the public sector as the County Engineer for Charlotte County, as well as Charlotte County’s Assistant County Administrator for Public Works. During his 26 years in the private sector, he participated on the design and construction teams for various high-profile professional and collegiate sports facilities across the United States; as well as senior level corporate positions, locally. Ken is a licensed Professional Engineer in numerous states across the country, as well as the District of Columbia.
