Candidate's Statement

As a Tara Preserve new-comer, I am delighted to be given the opportunity to run for election for Seat #3 on the Tara Preserve CDD Board of Supervisors.  It would be my honor to serve in this capacity where I can use my skills, knowledge and strong interest in giving back to the community.

Goal:                                                                                                                                                         It is my intent to help maintain high property values and to concentration on quality facilities and services. I will accomplish this through community awareness, active participation in Board meetings, careful consideration of issues and follow through on decisions for continuous improvement. I am also focused on residents' needs  and financial concerns, so I will use my skills to constrain costs and ensure we are getting value for investment.

Experience:

·       BOD Middlesex Community -  served on landscaping and building committees

·       Business owner - provided consulting services to commercial and not-for-profit organizations, utilizing my fine-tuned business acumen and contract, project management and marketing skills

·       Executive Director of The Cottage in Darien Inc. – co-founded of this not-for-profit public / private partnership to build, staff and maintain in perpetuity homes for physically and mentally challenged young adults

·       25+ year professional business career IBM Corporation - developed skills in negotiating tough decisions having global implications, managed projects focused on positive /effective outcomes and collaborated with wide variety of people/cultures/regions to reach /overachieve stated goals.

·       Overseas community/advisory BODs and Chambers of Commerce- served in various positions

BA Psychology, St. Joseph College

Corporate Finance/ Banking Certification, New York Institute of Finance

Single, one daughter who lives in CT, currently work for IBM Corporation from my home office as Public Sector Lead, Global Industry Solutions Center of Excellence
