Candidate: Rocky Dorcy

Rocky is a long-time resident of Edgewater.  While most people know him from his family-owned ice cream shop located in Edgewater, he is also an attorney licensed to practice in a couple states, a published author, a small business owner, a real estate agent, a manager of a small family-owned real estate portfolio, and most importantly, a father of three teenaged daughters.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from California State University at Northridge, and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School.  While in Law School he externed for a Federal Judge and later managed his own law practice for over 25 years.

  He and his wife of almost 20 years, made Florida their home a dozen years ago.  He donates his time coaching girls’ varsity basketball and girls’ varsity volleyball at his daughters' school. Now that his girls are growing up, and with his eldest daughter attending the University of Florida this year, he would like to give back to the Edgewater community that has been so giving and kind to his family.
