Candidate: MARILYN STOUT

I have lived in six states and two foreign countries and believe we have the best quality of life here in Lee County. We were a military family and after retiring moved to Cape Coral in 1982. I’ve served my community in many organizations as President 12 times, Vice President twice, Chairman 10 times and Vice Chair 5 times. During this time I’ve served two terms on both the Lee County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce. I have seven years perfect attendance (weekly) with Cape Coral North Kiwanis, one year of which I was President (Distinguished). I’ve served on the Cape Coral City Council and have more than 13 years on the Lee Memorial Health System Board, holding officer positions 11 of those years. My honors/education include: Citizen of the Year, Cape Coral Arts and Humanities; Lee County Paulette Burton Citizen of the Year, twice a Semi- Finalist; Sue Wadas Award, Cultural Park Theatre; GEM Award, Ft Myers Republican Women’s Club; Sheriff Citizen Academy, Charter Class; SW Florida Chamber “Leadership Lee County”; Cape Coral Chamber Charter Class “Leadership Cape Coral”; and Barry University, Bachelors in Public Administration, Summa Cum Laude For eight years I’ve served on the Cape Coral Municipal Charter School Board; and was Chair for four years. I’m presently the Deacon Moderator at Faith Presbyterian Church where I have been a member for seven years. I’ve been married to Anthony (Tony) Stout for almost 44 years. He is a deep-sea fishing guide. My son is a middle manager for Boeing in Phoenix, my daughter is a Middle School Principal, and my step-daughter is a tech writer in Houston. I have 8 grandchildren and 3 Scottish Fold cats…none of which I would trade for anything.
