Candidate's Statement

Have you ever started a task and found other, more urgent tasks that needed attention?  Such is my story.  Each of my professional and personal involvements has given me a unique perspective on our community’s strengths and needs. The more I learn, the stronger my desire becomes to support growth.  I am exceptionally qualified for the position of Supervisor of Elections because I am deeply invested in this area.  Every page, every word in my book has been, and continues to be, penned by the great region of Jackson County, Florida.

As the son of Randy and Shirl Williams, I was born and raised in Marianna.  I am married to the love of my life, Rebekah Williams; and, from the first chapter of our lives together, we made Jackson County our home.  We are bringing up three wonderful children, Imani, Corey, and Justin, who are also actively involved in our community.  We are all life-long members of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.

I am a proud member of the Class of 1993 of Marianna High School.  I earned an associate degree in business administration from Chipola College, attended Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University, and attained my bachelor’s degree in math education.  My work experience includes Sunland, Florida Department of Education, Tele-Tech, Florida State Hospital, and my current position of Instructor of Mathematics and Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Marianna High School.

Public servitude is a way of life for me.  I am beginning my 10th year as a City Commissioner and have served two terms as mayor of the City of Marianna, where I oversaw the city’s $37 million budget, the city’s redevelopment and progress following Hurricane Michael, and the refurbishing of Orange Hill gravesite and McLane Community Center.  I have worked as a member of Florida League of Cities, Northwest Florida League of Cities, Jackson County Educators Association, NAACP, and West-End Community Association.  I also promote the FAMU ALUMNI and City of Marianna’s scholarship programs.

As you can see, the account of my experience is extensive, but my work is far from finished.  My narratives of 13 years as a teacher, 13 years as a coach, and 10 years as a public official will function as springboards for me to continue a life of service.  I will use my experience to educate, encourage, and lead the people of Jackson County with integrity. I will reach beyond party lines and

My mission is simple.  As your Supervisor of Elections and a public servant, I will be accountable, accessible, and available to all the citizens of Jackson County.
