Candidate: Gail Ann Ward

I decided to run for Jackson County Supervisor of Elections because I know I would be an asset to Jackson County. I have a work ethic that is above and beyond the call of duty and a passion to serve ALL the residents of Jackson County. I feel that my ability to communicate both professionally and pleasantly would be beneficial to all voters and candidates . I will guarantee that my campaign will remain clean and professional . We live in a world surrounded by so much judgement and hatred. There is no place for this in my campaign or in my personal life. I choose who I want to be every day and I know how I want to be treated. That carries over in my professional life and it is key to the person I am and key to how I treat others.

Though I am a registered Republican , I chose to run non-party due to my belief that this office should be non-party. This office has a duty to serve all voters and candidates without bias due to their party affiliations. I believe Mrs. Stephens and her team have done an outstanding job and I would continue to build on the foundation she leaves behind. 

I do feel the need to expand our resources to our young and upcoming voters. I will dedicate time to any programs to educate the youth in the voter process. I would also challenge the youth on fact checking and not relying on social media . As the mother of a 12 year old I see first hand the influences of social media.

Though I grew up in neighboring Calhoun County , I have resided in Jackson County for 35 years. I have great experience in working with the public from my previous jobs with Jefferson Building Supply, Bontrager Chiropractic Clinic , Land Sales agent for The ST JOE Company/ Advantis Real Estate , Manager of Tatum's Hardwar & Supply, Inc , a family business and currently manager for Southern Lumber Supply for their Marianna location ( formerly Tatum's).  My past twelve years managing Tatum's Hardware have certainly taught me a great deal about working with a budget and understanding there is a huge difference in what we would like to have and what we actually need.  My years at Tatum's have also helped me to master the art of muti-tasking ! It has also given me an opportunity to work with so many wonderful customers. The most difficult times were after hurricane Michael but we all pulled together and we worked to put our lives back together and I will always cherish the wonderful attitudes and kindness from all the customers, they truly kept me going during that time. 

I believe my years in the private sector have prepared me for Supervisor of Elections . You will not see me spend wastefully and if elected you will NEVER hear me say that  I do not care what something cost because "it's not my money".  I believe, as a tax payer, it is my money and it is your money and we will stretch every way possible to conserve our resources. You will also find that I have no problem with physical labor and if that is what it takes to get something done then that is what I do . I am also fully prepared for any and all training to give me the tools do perform this job to the fullest.

My door will always be open and I will treat you with the same kindness and respect as I have always done , even long before I decided to run for YOUR SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS!

I have been married to my husband , Byron Ward , for 26 years . We have two beautiful daughters, Ciera and Cheyenne , and one handsome grandson Trenton.
