JAMES W. LARGE, MD

James has been a resident of Vero Beach since 1981 having come from 5 years of a General Surgery practice in Michigan. While a General Surgeon in Vero for 25 years, he also served as the Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff before he transitioned to Hospital Management as the Chief Medical Officer for Indian River Medical Center. Most recently Dr. Large was an Aetna Medical Director for both the State of Florida as well as several Academic Medical Centers from New York to California. He served as President of the Fl Chapter, American College of Surgeons and sat on the Boards of the American Cancer Society, the Visiting Nurse Association, and the Vestry of Trinity Episcopal Church. Married to wife, Nancy they raised 3 children. James received his BA from Washington & Lee University, MD from Wayne State University, his surgical training from Ohio State University, and his MMM, a Masters of Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
