Biography:

Peggy Jones is a 40 year resident of Vero Beach who continues her professional and personal commitment to education by volunteering at Crossover Mission. She works with students at Gifford Middle with the course recovery program and is also involved with the basketball program at Crossover.

She was a Panel Chair for the Education grants distributed by United Way and serves on a professional development committee with the Learning Alliance. She continues to be active in the educational needs of students in Indian River County.

She retired in 2009 after serving as the Principal of Sebastian River High School for 11 years. She moved up to the Florida High School Athletic Association and served as Assistant Executive Director for Athletic Services and Associate Executive Director for Administrative Services. After 5 years at the FHSAA she came back to Vero Beach and worked as a Consultant to Principals and also served as the Executive Director for Secondary Schools.

Overall, she has dedicated 37 years of her life to education, and an additional 5 years at the Florida High School Athletic Association. She is a life-long learner who continues to be passionate about the education of all students in Indian River County.
