Candidate's Statement

Danny is President and founder of Planogramming Solutions, Inc., an international consulting and outsourcing solutions company founded in 1991 here in Jacksonville, Florida. Danny is married to his wife Linda and has two daughters, Ashlyn age 19 and Lauren age 13. Danny earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business Management and Management Information Systems from Valdosta State University. Over many years, Danny has been involved in a wide range of business and community civic organizations that have prepared him for public service and to represent the citizens of the Southside. Professionally, he served as the Chair of his industry’s worldwide Special Interest Group organization, whose purpose was to drive innovation, development and communication among hundreds of companies. Danny has authored articles within his profession and is known as a leader and acknowledged veteran in the retail industry, specializing in the field of retail space management. Danny has also served the Southside Community as a community leader as demonstrated by his appointment on the District 3, Mayor’s Citizens Planning Advisory Committee. He has served as Chair of the Growth Management and Transportation committee (2011-2013) and was elected as Vice-Chair of the organization in 2013. These positions have given him invaluable experience by having interaction with our city officials and many departments within our city government. In 2012, Danny was appointed to the TRUE Commission (Taxation, Revenue & Utilization of Expenditures) by the Jacksonville City Council. This opportunity as a fiscal watchdog for our city government, has given him insight and oversight into our city’s budget, pension and legislative processes. Danny serves regularly on the TRUE commission’s Performance, Audit and Legislative subcommittees and has quickly become a respected member of the commission. In 2013, Council President Bill Gulliford selected Danny for appointment to the JIA Area ReDevelopment Agency Board. This group’s role is the advisory board to the Office of Economic Development overseeing the largest and fastest growing Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) in the state which includes Tradeport Business Park and Jacksonville International Airport. In 2011, Danny ran unsuccessfully for the Jacksonville City Council, District 13 seat as a Southside candidate. In having captured the “largest percentage of votes on the Southside”, he ultimately came up short against the Beaches candidate for where 65% of the population resided. As a campaign promise, Danny teamed up with then elected Council member Gulliford and helped create an independent Southside District, without the Beaches, which is now NEW DISTRICT 11. “I am running for City Council of the New Southside District 11 because I have the passion, experience and leadership qualifications that our area needs in electing its first representative to the Jacksonville City Council. The Southside is fast becoming the greatest growth area of our city and as a District representative, I am uniquely qualified in growth management, transportation and fiscal policy that will help our communities thrive and prosper for years to come. For our city, I really care about the Jacksonville community and I want to help shape its future. I am passionate about making our streets safer, our local government more accountable all the while making sure that our tax burden is minimized but not to sacrifice our basic services and quality of life in the process.” I am excited about our campaign and look forward to meeting more of the voters in the district.” Summary of Civic, Community and Industry Experience • Southside Business Owner, President, Planogramming Solutions, Inc.
