Candidate's Statement

Hello to Bradford County District 4 voters,

I am running for re-election to the Bradford County School Board and would appreciate your vote on August 18th.

Over the last four years. I have been very active and a passionate board member. I believe we have the school system headed in the right direction that benefits both our students and our staff. As a team, the school board has worked hard to bring in new materials and differentiation of learning and teaching to our teachers and children. We have made improvements to the attendance policies to help keep our students in class and increase our graduation rates. After all students can not learn and succeed if they are not in school .

One of the programs that is flourishing and making sure students leave the school system with viable work opportunities is the NETC Health program. Along with the health program, the NETC has also offers carpentry, welding, culinary skills, truck driving and computer skills that prepare our high school students and adult students with the skills that allows them the opportunity for a fair living wage once the programs are completed. For a small rural county, our system is to be bragged about and students should be encouraged to explore the options of trade if college is not for them.

I believe in the public school system and feel that all of our students should have the chance to be successful. I am the proud grandmother and great grandmother of five children in of our schools. I have made it my job to be at the different schools and help where ever needed. I have spent time in the classrooms assisting students, reading to children and wiping down tables in the cafeteria. I believe in hands-on as a school board member. It has given me the chance to see what happens in the trenches and to go back to the board as a advocate for both the employees and the children. I have gained a deeper respect for the teachers in our county and will continue to speak for them.

As Americans, our children have the right to receive a quality education and it is our jobs as citizens to ensure qualified people are in the positions to provide it. With the world suffering through the pandemic, I am proud of how our county school system rallied together to insure that our children were taken care of. After all it is a team effort and I am proud to be a part of the Bradford County School System. So when you go to the polls in August, please consider voting for me, Vivian Chappell for the District 4 School Board position. It would be my honor to continue to represent you and your children.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 352.473.2690 and I would be glad to listen and discuss any concerns you may have.

Best regards,

Vivian O. Chappell
