Candidate: Glen Gnann

A long time citizen of Bradford County, Glen Steven Gnann, has been a dedicated employee to each position he has held throughout his career. Glen was born and raised in Bradford County, son of William "Bill" Gnann and Shirley Brown Gnann, and graduated from Bradford County High School in 1980. After high school, Glen began his career in law enforcement with Lawtey Correctional Institute from 1981-1983. Glen got his start as a corrections officer by providing care, custody, and control of inmates. He was then employed by Bradford County Sheriff’s Office from 1983-1985 where he also worked for the Bradford County Jail on Pratt Street. From 1985-1987 Glen worked for Putnam Correctional Institute, and from 1987-1994 Baker Correctional Institute where he earned the rank of Sergeant. In 1994 Glen was hired with the Baker County Sheriff’s Office. At Baker County Glen held multiple positions such as Patrol Deputy and K9 Deputy where he oversaw the K9 unit for ten plus years. While working in the K9 unit he was responsible for DUI enforcement and drug interdiction. During that time he also held the rank of Sergeant, and received multiple awards including Officer of the Year. Glen then went on to earn the rank of Patrol Lieutenant before finishing his career with the Baker County Sheriff’s Office in 2007. Upon his break in his law enforcement career from 2007-2009, Glen continued to stay active as a Reserve Deputy with Baker County Sheriff’s Office. In 2009 Glen returned to law enforcement with the Department of Transportation/Florida Highway Patrol. During his first two years with DOT Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, Glen was responsible for enforcing commercial vehicle safety. He then transferred to the Drug Interdiction Unit where he continued until his departure from the agency in 2018. In the same year, Glen accepted a position with the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office as a school resource officer where he worked for one year at the Bradford County High School. In 2019 Glen then accepted an opportunity to join a newly established law enforcement agency with the Clay County School District as School Resource Officer for the Clay County School Police Department at Keystone Heights High School.  

Throughout all of these years of experience, Glen has maintained his passion for law enforcement. He offers a wealth of knowledge and dedication to law enforcement, no matter the position. Glen would like to bring these years of experience, knowledge, and dedication to his hometown of Bradford County. As a long time citizen of Bradford County, Glen understands the importance of a close knit community, and the importance of citizens maintaining a healthy, working relationship with the Sheriff’s Office. His vision is to closely unite the Sheriff’s Office with the citizens of Bradford County, and work together for the betterment of all.
