Candidate's Statement

Kathleen "Kathie" Angione has lived in Broward County for the past 50 years.  She grew up in Pompano Beach, attended church, and was educated through the Broward County School System.  Kathleen received her Bachelors of Science degree, and later an advanced paralegal certification at Florida Atlantic University.  Kathleen received her law degree from NSU Shepard Broad Law in 1999.

Kathleen has spent her entire adult professional life dedicated to the Broward County legal community.  Kathleen was a trial paralegal at Kubicki Draper before leaving to attend NSU.  She was selected by NSU to be a Goodwin Fellow based on her many years of demonstrated legal service and dedication.  Never one to back down from a challenge, Kathleen arrived for the first day of law school nearly 6 months pregnant.  Empowered by her internal drive, and with the love and support of her family, Kathleen went on to receive the "Book Award"  in legal writing, was selected as an author and editor for the Journal of International and Comparative Law, and ultimately graduated magna cum laude 3 years later.

Kathleen has spent the last 25 years as a civil trial attorney, and has taken hundreds of cases to trial over her decades long legal career. Kathleen is also an accomplished appellate attorney, having represented many of her clients through appeal, and having engaged in oral argument before some of our District Courts of Appeal.  Kathleen Angione has also represented many of her clients in U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

In addition to being an accomplished lawyer, Kathleen is also a wife and mother.  Kathleen has been married to Frank Angione, Jr. for the past 31 years.  Together they have two children, Nikki and Frankie Angione.  Nikki and Frankie were raised in Pompano Beach, attended Westminster Academy from pre-kindergarten through high school, and went on to attend UF (Go Gators!).  Frankie will be graduating from UF in a few months with his Master in Economics and Nikki (having already graduated UF with a Master in Finance) will be graduating from Wharton with her MBA next summer.

Together Kathleen and her family have remained dedicated to our community throughout the years.  From participating in ocean reef dive cleanup initiatives, to helping younger students learn to read, raising money for MS, mentoring young professionals, and educating young women on the dangers of human trafficking, Kathleen has always been quick to help others with a smile on her face, and a great attitude.

Kathleen decided to run for Broward County Court Judge because she believes she can continue to make a difference in our community.  Our community is very diverse and it is critical that our judicial vacancies are filled with people like Kathleen Angione that are fair and patient listeners that believe justice should be available to everyone.  They also need to be filled with people like Kathleen that have the experience and demonstrated temperament to be successful.  Kathleen Angione is exactly that person.

Vote Kathleen "Kathie" Angione for Broward County Judge on August 20, 2024.

Together we are stronger!
