Candidate's Statement

"Klitzman is best prepared." – Sun Sentinel, 7/12/20 endorsement

A proud product of Broward County Public Schools, Chad Klitzman is an attorney, a screenwriter ("Candy Jar" on Netflix) and a Columbia Law School graduate who served in the Office of Management and Administration in the Obama White House. He left his job as an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York, where he worked on multi-million/billion dollar corporate finance and securities transactions, to come home and serve the community whose institutions, leaders and schools shaped the person he is today. Chad is the former President of Kids Voting Broward and served as a Student Ambassador to the Broward League of Cities, which awarded him their Scholarship for Government Studies.

Chad is running for Supervisor of Elections to modernize the office, restore confidence in the voting process and ensure there is uniformity in process such that every function of the elections office has a procedure or manual that, when feasible, is made publicly available so the office can be held accountable. He personally drove 4,000 miles to visit each Florida county elections office and find best practices to bring back to Broward.

Chad's prior experience includes his service at the Federal Aviation Administration, the Federal Highway Administration, in the offices of two members of Congress and two years in the legal department at JetBlue Airways. Chad also spent a summer in the Miami litigation department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Chad is a member of the Florida, New York and Colorado Bars.

Chad has been endorsed by the Sun Sentinel, former US Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, Ellie Schafer (former Special Assistant to President Obama for Management and Administration), Broward School Board member Lori Alhadeff, former Hollywood Mayor Peter Bober, former Cooper City Mayor and former Broward League of Cities President Debby Eisinger, Hallandale Beach Vice Mayor Sabrina Javellana, former Coconut Creek Mayor Lisa Aronson, the Broward Young Democrats, Run for Something and the LGBTQ Victory Fund.
