Candidate: Bill Weller

About Bill Weller: Since moving to Charlotte County Bill Weller has been dedicated to making life better for the children and families of Charlotte County. Rather its coaching soccer, teaching children’s choir, or mentoring a child to read Mr. Weller has proven his dedication to the improvement of our community second to none. In 1998 Governor Charlie Crist recognized Bill’s commitment by appointing him to the Charlotte County Children’s Services Council on which he currently serves as Vice-Chairman. Bill also serves on the Board of Directors for the Charlotte County American Red Cross, The Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies and the Early Childhood Learning Council, Florida Heartland. His dedication to the improvement of our community for children and families has also led him to serve on the Charlotte Community Alliance, serve as Chairman for the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, the Drug Free Charlotte Community Alliance, the Arts and Humanities Council, various School Advisory Committees/ Parent Teacher Organizations, the United Way Community Impact Panel and as a graduate of Leadership Charlotte. He also serves on the Charlotte County Commission Beaches and Shores Advisory Committee and has been appointed to the 2010 Charter Review Commission. Bill currently serves as the Director of Administration for Ambitrans Ambulance. He has years of experience in the field of emergency services, and was recognized as the EMT of the year in 2002. In his free time Bill enjoys spending time with his wife Carrie and their two children, 9 year old Lily and 5 year old Libby. Bill also enjoys playing saxophone and piano as part of the praise band at the church he is very actively involved in. Bill has attended various colleges including St. Petersburg College, Hillsborough Community College, Eckerd College, and is currently pursuing his Graduate Certificate in Theology from Liberty University.
