Candidate: Don Lee

I am a resident of Charlotte County, have been since 1994, and am currently a member of the Charlotte County Airport Authority, on which I have served for 11 years. With 27 years in the Aviation Industry I am very knowledgeable in airport business management. I am the former owner of two businesses-Aviation Marine Services, Inc and Product Investigation Services, where I specialized in claim investigations and settlement negotiations for General Commercial Aviation and Airport Liability. I have worked with the FAA, NTSB and Airport Management. I’ve developed costs and schedules for airport systems. My aviation expertise includes “expert witness” for law firms, insurance companies, and aircraft manufacturers in both state and federal courts. I have done on-scene air facilities-related investigations with the FAA and NTSB in both the US and foreign nations. I have a commercial Pilot’s license with 7000 hours flight time and ratings for Instrumental Flight, Single Engine and multi-engine airplanes. I was also a former FAA Accident Prevention counselor conducting safety seminars for pilots. In my 11 years on the Charlotte County Airport Authority I have helped lead the growth of one of Charlotte Counties leading economic engines, the Charlotte County Airport. Today the airport not only provides access to our area for thousands of visitors each year; but it also provides a home for many businesses and jobs for many residents. I am personally proud to say that the airport has accomplished this without one cent of local tax monies. I am proud to serve the citizens of Charlotte County in this capacity, and look forward in helping our airport to “keep soaring” for many years to come.
