Well-being, education and safety of our children are our priorities

Professor Victor Cruz has been involved in education and juvenile justice diversion programs for more than twenty years and has long worked for positive change in Osceola County. Professor Cruz wants to bring fresh ideas and positive solutions and other attributes to the Osceola County School Board by running for District 3 School Board Member.

Professor Cruz has always been concerned about education, school transportation, safety, security, students' mental health and substance abuse. He believes there are workable solutions available that will enhance all of these issues, as well as increasing graduation rates, lowering dropout rates, behavior improvement and increasing extracurricular school activities.

Other critical issues include funding per student and salaries for teachers. We are currently last by $2,669 of 67 Counties on the total financing per student. By requesting an increase in local, state and federal funding, we can improve our school budget.

We need to find ways to involve local vendors and residents, so we could improve our school system and all make a difference by working together. For these reasons, Professor Cruz believes he is the best candidate and sees this as the right time step forward and offer the voters of Osceola County District 3 a choice for the right candidate to tackle these issues and help improve our educational system.
