Candidate: Mike Cohen

Greetings. I am Mike Cohen, candidate for Hamilton County Sheriff. My main goal will be to serve and protect all the citizens of Hamilton County. I would love your support and assistance with becoming your next Sheriff of Hamilton County.

I am a long time Hamilton County resident and currently reside in Jasper. I matriculated through the Hamilton County School District. After high school, I joined the United States Army and proudly served my country for 21 years. Post military, I was employed by Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office for 12 years. During that time my job titles included Correction Officer, School Resource Officer(2007 Florida School Resource Officer of the Year), and Road Deputy. My law enforcement experience also includes being employed by City of White Springs Police Department, City of Jennings Police Department and City of Jasper Police Department(Captain/Assistant Chief).

The community is very important to me.  I have committed myself to many organizations that allowed me to be a certified coach/volunteer for Special Olympics, Hamilton County High School basketball coach, officiates numerous sports at Hamilton County Recreational Department and community schools, and member at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. I further serve my community in my current role as the Hamilton County School District Transportation Supervisor.

My areas of focus are fairness, community-partnership, and dedication to all citizens. I would also like to improve community relations and most importantly, keep the citizens of Hamilton County safe. Working within Hamilton County has allowed me to grow into a strong leader and understand the needs of all citizens.
