Candidate: W. Scott Westbrook

CANDIDATE STATEMENT: Scott has been an attorney since October 1997. August 1997 through December 1999, he worked as a staff attorney for the Tenth Judicial Circuit in Polk County, Florida. January 2000 through July 2001, Scott worked in private practice on a range of civil cases in state and federal court. During this time, Scott worked on the defense of products liability lawsuits, worked on the defense of premises liability lawsuits, and even defended several law enforcement officers in civil rights lawsuits in federal court. July 2001 through May 2003, Scott was a staff attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit here in Flagler County and worked primarily for Judge Kim C. Hammond. Since May 2003, Scott has been an assistant state attorney with the State Attorney\'s Office for the Seventh Judicial Circuit in the Flagler County office. Scott has been a resident of Flagler County since June 2002, has been married for over 20 years, and has two children in the Flagler County Public Schools. As an attorney, Scott has assisted in drafting hundreds of judicial orders, argued motions in state and federal court, handled thousands of criminal cases, and successfully tried numerous criminal cases in Flagler County including a number of high profile felonies. When he is not working, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.
