Candidate's Statement

Lynn Corr: I believe there are too many politicians and not enough problem solvers and dedicated doers.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world: indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead

I am daughter and step-daughter to two Air Force Officers (retired), sister of a Marine and step sister to three Navy and Marine Veterans. I come from a long line of hard-working, everyday Floridians, and I am a proud supporter of our Military and Police. I am dedicated to service, hard work, and love of community and country.

I have lived and worked in Collier County for over 39 years.  I am an involved Collier County resident, happily married, and joyful mother of two, and grandma “Mimi” to 13 grandchildren.   I have a deep love and affinity for Foster Care as four of my grandchildren have been adopted through the Foster Care System.

For over 30 years I’ve been gaining experience necessary to problem solve, work with a team, adapt when needed, and actively lead.

  •        As a business owner,
  •        Retail manager,
  •        Former teacher,
  •        Executive Board member of Gator Alley, Abate of Florida and
  •        State Executive Board Member for ABATE of Florida, Motorcyclist Rights          Organization,
  •        Construction management,
  •        Volunteer for Daily Bread food pantry,
  •        Special Olympics,
  •        Swamp Buggy races and other organizations,
  •        former Music Director for Naples Community Church,
  •        Radio DJ for Spark Radio, and local musician for 30 years, I’ve honed my organizational, decision making, time-management, relationship building, and leadership skills and I am ready to use everything I have to keep the best of Collier County and achieve important, needed advancement.

I have been involved and proactive in local issues and political candidates for many years and know that problems do not fix themselves and that promises made by politicians must be kept.  It takes honest, reliable, stable, diligent, hardworking, involved residents to make real change where needed and to protect what is treasured.  Citizens must have more voice in government in defending our shared values, stabilizing what is working, protecting our quality of life and addressing and advocating for the infrastructure and services needed for growth.

As a full-time Naples resident, I am intimately aware of the need for finding the balance between responsible growth and protecting the health, safety, welfare and quality of life of residents and visitors.  I care about Collier County.

As Harry Emerson Fosdick said, “Democracy is based upon the conviction that there are extraordinary possibilities in ordinary people.”
