Candidate's Statement

Dr. Arthur Boyer is a native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He immigrated in the United States in September 1991. He was 21 years old. His American dream began between tomato fields, packing houses, and Bethune Adult Education Center in Immokalee, Florida. Collier County has been his home for 30 years.

Dr. Boyer received the Degree of Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Southwest Florida College. He received the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and the Degree of Master of Public Administration from Hodges University. He holds the Degree of Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University. Nonetheless, it is worth noted that Dr. Boyer was a senior high school dropout when he came to the United States.

Dr. Boyer has been an educator for 18 years. He has had the honor and privilege of contributing his skills and knowledge at multiple professional, academic, and vocational institutions around Southwest Florida, which include Bethune Education Center, Immokalee Technical College, Immokalee Foundation, Immokalee Guadalupe Center, Southwestern Vocational Training, Hodges University, and Boyer Multidisciplinary Consulting.

In 2017, Dr. Boyer launched a free family-education consulting service in Collier County. He called it “Help a Child”. The program promotes education, discipline, and motivation for students. It encourages parental engagement and involvement, and it empowers parents in developing effective exchanges with the schools to ensure the success of their children. Dr. Boyer believes that when school officials, teachers, and parents work together effectively, students develop better self-esteem, are more self-disciplined, show higher commitment towards school, family, and community.

In 2020 and 2021, during the pandemic, Dr. Boyer organized a free virtual tutoring program to provide elementary, middle, and high school students the academic and motivational supports needed to keep them engaged and ensure their success. A great team of current and retired teachers and other professionals joined in. They facilitated the shift from regular classrooms to virtual learning. They helped with homework, coursework, and test preparations skills. All students succeeded.

Dr. Boyer is the Chief Executive Officer of Boyer Multidisciplinary Consulting, a registered education, leadership, and life coaching firm. The firm handles multiple aspects of services, which include family education consulting, professional and higher education consulting, organizational leadership consulting, and personal life coaching. Dr. Boyer specializes in coaching individuals in their quest for personal, professional, and academic success.

Dr. Boyer is a motivational speaker and a political analyst radio. He has presented extensively on education, community development, and civic engagement. In 2015, Dr. Boyer published Managing Multiculturalism in the Classroom, which is a phenomenological study that builds the case for acknowledging multiculturalism and the need for multicultural leadership in diverse institutions. In 2018, he published his poetry book, Obsession.

Dr. Boyer has served on the advisory board of many institutions, which include Premiere International College, Southwestern Vocational Training, Haitian-American Democratic Club of Lee County, Collier County Black Affairs, Haitian-American Community Coalition of Southwest Florida. He has also led commanding leadership activities volunteering with Red Cross, World Vision, and many local churches around Collier County.
