Candidate: Daija Hinojosa

Daija Hinojosa and her husband moved to Naples in 2012 from Portland, Oregon. Daija is a results driven leader with eighteen years of business experience in upper level management for womens fashion apparel brands like Buckle, Bcbg, Coach and White House Black Market. She has great understanding of business principles, effective management, managing multi million dollar budgets, increasing revenue through proactive business practices and strengthening morale. She has played key roles in each company as a leader who is able to positively transform the work culture. Daija is a team-builder, and a gatherer of people. She is unapologetic about her convictions and has a keen desire to see people work together and achieve common goals.

As an influential grass roots initiator, her passion is to encourage citizens to get involved in their local government affairs and advocate for issues that are important to them.  As a community leader she currently serves as a Leadership Ambassador for the non-profit organization, Agents for Change Intl., where she helps teach practical time tested principles through intentional leadership training. She is also a precinct committee woman for the CCREC in Precinct 428.

As Commissioner, the three things that Daija will champion are; proactive approaches to improving our water quality, encouraging diverse economic development, And adhering to the community vision for balanced growth through codifying the East Naples Community Development Plan. She is also passionate about encouraging broad citizen engagement and will bring a fresh & principled perspective to the County Commission.
