Candidate: Ricky Booth

My name is Ricky Booth and I am a 6th generation resident of Osceola, a cattle rancher, a husband, father, and a conservative Republican. I have a passion for the community that I have always called home. I am a product of our local school system, and a proud graduate of St. Cloud High School. I attended University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honors. My wife Erika teaches in Osceola’s public schools, and we have 3 children.

In 2014 I ran for the Osceola School Board and committed to making our great schools even better. I’m proud to report that during my tenure the School District improved from a C to a B, graduation rates went up, and we held administration costs to the lowest in the state. I kept my word and made developers pay some of the highest impact fees in the state, fought to have a law enforcement officer in every school, worked to keep our environment clean, balanced a $1 billion budget, and expanded technical, agricultural, and advanced educational opportunities.  

Now, I would like to continue my goal of making Osceola County the best place to live, work, raise a family, and retire by serving on the County Commission. Together, I know we can repeat our successes. With your support, my priorities will be:

·        Support law and order and back our first responders

·        Limit growth and fight for the quality of life we all want

·        Protect our natural resources and agriculture industry

·        Promote high-quality schools by working with our School District

·        Fight for low taxes and fiscally responsible budgeting
