Candidate: Eddie Joe White

Greetings Liberty County Citizens, My name is Eddie Joe White. I am an August 30th, 2016 Democratic Candidate for Sheriff. I am a proud and lifelong resident of Liberty County. The son of Bill White and Nettie Leigh Rankin. Grandson of the late Leon and Stella Mae White and Bill and Verna Rankin. I have been married to my sweet wife “Lynn” for 24 years. She is the daughter of Jack and Cathy Revell and the late Carol Lindsey Revell. We have two daughters, Jordan (23) and Shelby (21), who are a blessing to me and their mother as we have watched them grow into beautiful and hard working young women. As a family, we are members of the First Baptist Church of Bristol. We are an active and God fearing family. We enjoy spending our lives here with the wonderful people in Liberty County. Upon election 2016, I will have already turned 45 years of age and thanks to God I am in perfect health. I have spent my entire career of 24 years in law enforcement and corrections, many of those years spent serving the citizens of Liberty County as a Deputy Sheriff. I currently serve at Florida State Hospital in a forensic setting, with some of Florida’s worst offenders. As an active member of Florida’s work force, my job requires toughness, mental acuity, professionalism coupled with physical ability. These are the exact requirements that will allow me to be a successful manager and leader when elected. Because of my age and proven work ethic, my realistic campaign promise to you is that I can and will be a working sheriff. Due to the limited size of the department, the Sheriff can no longer afford to just be an administrator. I will work along side deputies day and night to provide fair law enforcement throughout the county and for all citizens. I will actively implement drug enforcement policies that will have an impact you can see throughout my term in office. I will conduct the Sheriff’s business with an openness and honesty that will restore a trusting relationship between the Sheriff’s office and the community. I will be accessible to you twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and I will react to your concerns personally when required. As I stated earlier, I will be a working sheriff that shows tireless concern for our counties senior population and have continuous involvement in our schools and with our youth. Upon election I will immediately begin rebuilding a solid relationship between the office of the Sheriff, other constitutional offices and the Board of County Commissioners. In closing I submit to you that we all know a change is coming to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department. The ability to select a person that will turn the department back over to the people of Liberty County is up to you the voter. To do that, you must select a person that is open minded, honest, respectful and has a high regard for all the citizens of Liberty County, especially women. I am ready to be the Sheriff of Liberty County. I have worked hard all my life and I will work hard for you. When elected I will earn and restore the peoples trust in the office of the Sheriff.
