Jim Touchton Candidate for Marion County School Board District 3 Since 2005, Jim Touchton has been an instructor for the Marion County School System, educating students in an impressive array of studies, including Mathematics, Drafting, Advanced Technology Applications, Advanced Placement Physics, Advanced Placement Statistics, Drafting and Illustrative Design and American Sign Language. Prior to teaching, Touchton served for more than two decades as an engineer for several notable telecommunications and IT organizations (BellSouth, IBM and Aligent Technologies, respectively). In his roles he gained valuable insight into system analysis and evaluation and process implementation, as well as experience in identifying inefficiencies and implementing corrective procedures. With IBM, Touchton played a key role in patenting computer architecture and developed an efficiency roadmap that saved the company more than $1 million annually in operational costs. Touchton leverages his previous experience and unique skill set to critically approach problems and implement the appropriate solutions. Driven by a passion to lead, he is running for the Marion County School Board to ensure that the best education is afforded to current and future students.
