Candidate: ANGIE BOYNTON

Angie Boynton was born and raised in Ocala, Florida. She is a product of the Marion County School system so it has a special place in her heart. She graduated from Forest High School, where she was class President of the Junior class, Vice-President of the Senior class and a member of the National Honor Society. She then attended the University of Florida. She is the mother of one daughter, who is currently working on her Ph.D in Psychology at Antioch University. Angie Boynton has served the community in various capacities. She serves on several leadership boards and is a small business owner. For several years Angie served as the 2003-2005 Chair of Marion County Pace Center for Girls and as a member of the Pace Center SAC Committee. She was a Girl Scout Leader for the Gaitway Council and Den Leader of Cub Scout Pack #708 for Mad Dads of Greater Ocala. Boynton tutored area youth, ages 5-17, at Deer Run Apartments and later at Oak Crest Elementary School. She developed the \"Kids United to Succeed” program which provided afterschool enrichment activities to at-risk youth in Marion County. In 2010 Boynton was selected by the Citizen’s Ambassador Program. In this capacity, she will serve as an Ambassador to Egypt & South Africa to participate in a global early childhood education program. She was elected in November 2012 to serve on the Marion County School Board.
