Candidate: Darbi Chaires

My name is Darbi Chaires and I am a Republican candidate for the Dixie County Supervisor of Elections Office.

While I grew up in Old Town, I am currently a resident of Cross City. I am a single mother of 2 girls, Kirstyn (17) & Kinsley (11). I graduated from Dixie County High School in 2004 and am a member of Lydia Baptist Church. I have been a 4-H leader in Dixie County for the last 8 years, served as Superintendent of Creative Life Skills at the Suwannee River Fair for the last 5 years and am a past director of the Dixie County Chamber of Commerce.

Over the last 17 years, I have worked and been involved in over 30 municipal, local, state, & federal elections. These elections include working in one of the smallest counties (Dixie) and one of the largest counties (Duval) in the state.

The teams I have worked with have worked tirelessly to ensure all elections were conducted accurately and honestly with transparency and integrity. Currently, as Deputy Clerk at the elections office, I have many responsibilities. Some of those responsibilities include: leading candidate and election worker workshops and training, responding to public records requests, programming election databases and voting equipment, registering voters, verifying and submitting signed petitions to the state, & working alongside the current supervisor of elections to submit election reports to the Division of Elections.

Staying up to date on the ever changing election laws and procedures is imperative to the success of the elections office. With this in mind, I have attended many workshops and training with the Division of Elections and am up to date and well versed on the current election laws. I also know and understand the importance of cyber security in the elections office and have attended many trainings and workshops relating to such.
