Meet Sandra
I have a passion for public service, and I know it will be an honor to serve my community in this capacity. I will work to ensure that all children are properly educated with the traditional academic skills instead of these “new” Social Emotional Learning (SEL) formerly (CRT 2.0), and Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE) being interjected on our children from grades K–12. I will fight to put power back into the hands of parents when it comes to their child’s education, health, and well-being. I will drive budget accountability through financial transparency to ensure our tax dollars are being spent wisely. You should know where your money is being spent!
We are proud residents and homeowners in Englewood. I raised 4 children for two decades in the state of Minnesota. I lived the fight against administrators who actively resisted my efforts to participate in the decisions in the education of our children. I ran for State Representative in 2020 in MN to stop our schools from indoctrination of our children. Regrettably, our voices were not heard so we were compelled to move to the free state of Florida where we can make a difference. My daughter, son-in-law and our two wonderful grandchildren followed us here and attend an elementary school here in Sarasota County. They are my inspiration to run for school board so that they receive the same traditional academic education that my children received and so that they grow up to become independent productive adults in our community.
My husband and I are small business owners, and I am a 20+ year real estate broker. I actively volunteer at the Project Phoenix Resale store in Englewood which is a local non-profit assisting individuals in our community who find themselves recovering from a devastating loss. I also recently volunteered at the Englewood Waterfest at the Family Conservation Center. I am a proud member of the Moose Lodge Chapter 1933 here in Englewood.
What I Stand For
-Defend Parental Rights-
On September 2021, the board chair said "we've heard enough from the parents." Our parents are not being heard. The "one size fits all" approach won't work for all children - that's why parents having a seat at the table is essential.
-Return to Basic Academics-
We have an excellent school district, however, there are 14,000 students reading below their grade level and can't understand their textbooks.
Establishing a strong understanding of the basics is a key aspect that has long been forgotten. When our schools build a solid foundation for our children focused around subjects like Reading, Math, History and Science, it strengthens the ability for our students to build skills like critical thinking and guides them towards a path of success.
-Drive Budgetary Accountability-
On September 3, 2021, the board majority voted for nearly half a million dollars to be contracted for "Social/Emotional/Behavioral Interventions" for just one elementary school. This is just one example of excessive spending. Everybody in our community deserves to know where our money is going and how it's being spent!
Help me to take back our schools for Our children, Our community, Our future!
Thank you,
God Bless you and God Bless America
Sandra Jimenez
