Candidate's Statement

Lindsey Brock is the effective candidate with the leadership and vision to bring a consensus for solutions to the issues facing our community. Lindsey speaks with knowledge, vision, and maturity about the solutions to lower taxes, to control spending and to begin to restore businesses, neighborhoods and property values in Arlington and the city. Lindsey Brock is connected to Arlington. He grew up in University Park in Arlington and graduated from Terry Parker High School. He received his degree from the University of Florida, and went on to obtain a law degree and a master’s degree in maritime law before coming back to Arlington – his home. He worked to grow a law practice in Jacksonville to serve the people and businesses in our area and beyond. He is a small business owner and understands the day-to-day struggles facing small business owners. He has a passion for serving his community – Arlington. Lindsey Brock understands families. Raising two children, son, Connor, and daughter, Caitlin, with his wife, Carol, gives him a perspective about the needs of families and their struggles. He knows strong families and active children help lower crime, promote education and create communities where people want to live, learn and grow their lives. His wife, Carol, is a second-career teacher at Lone Star Elementary. They invest their time in young couples through their church, where they teach Bible studies and Lindsey serves as a deacon and administrator of the church’s discipleship ministry. Together he and Carol host small group meetings at their home to pass on those qualities of faith, family and community that are the foundation of their life together. Lindsey Brock knows how to work with others to bring real solutions. When Lindsey and other Terry Parker graduates heard about the challenges at their alma mater, Lindsey worked with them to create the Terry Parker Alumni Fund, Inc. This 501(c)(3) charitable organization serves to give students the opportunity to make the most out of their high school experience. In the three years since it formed, the Alumni Fund served as a link to the community and raised over $100,000 for the school. Lindsey presented the alumni model to the Duval County School Board so that alumni, students, and families at other schools can follow their lead and use this model to benefit from their solution. This is the kind of solution leadership that Arlington and our city need to face today’s challenges. Lindsey Brock knows that times are tough. With his background and experience he will bring a positive plan to the City Council to bring growth, investment, and jobs to our communities. He can effectively lead others to join in a vision to control spending and streamline our local government to make our city ready to lead in economic recovery.
