Candidate's Statement

David A. Taylor is not a politician, but rather an accomplished businessman, and now thankfully plans to take those same savvy business skills he has developed in the private sector and put them to work for the city of Jacksonville. He is the founder of David Taylor, P.A., a highly successful law firm in Jacksonville, and his primary field of practice is commercial litigation and adoptions. Mr. Taylor also serves as Vice President of David A. Taylor Air Conditioning and Heating, which has been in business and providing reasonable prices and personalized service for more than 20 years. Also, Mr. Taylor is the owner and Chief Investigator of Moonlight Investigation. In conjunction with other investigation and security companies, Moonlight provides services to private individuals as well as the state and federal government. The company currently has employees serving overseas working in conjunction with the Unites States Military fighting the ongoing war on terror. In addition, David Taylor is the president of Nine Point Holding Company, Inc. Nine Point manages and constructs residential properties throughout Jacksonville. Together with its business partners, Nine Point has constructed more than 25 new custom homes in Jacksonville during the last four years. Lastly, Mr. Taylor is a past president of the River City Republican Club and a member of the Republican Executive Committee, Westside Baptist Church, Westside Republican Club, Hyde Park Masonic Lodge, West Jacksonville Civic Association, Northeast Florida Builders Association, Westside Business Leaders, Westside Rotary Club, the National Rifle Association and Safari Club International. Additionally, he serves on Sheriff John Rutherford’s Sheriff’s Office Advisory Council. Mr. Taylor has been married to his wife Julie for more than 10 years. Julie is an Assistant State Attorney under the direction of Angela Corey. Together, Mr. Taylor and his wife have an eight-year-old daughter named Shelby. Mr. Taylor believes the voters of Jacksonville should look at the upcoming election as a job interview. They should ask themselves, “Who do I want running my city and managing its one billion dollar budget, while always keeping Jacksonville as a primary concern?” If the voters base their decisions on that candidate’s credentials, integrity and compassion for cutting taxes and wasteful spending, the answer is clear: David Taylor for City Council Group One at Large. Mr. Taylor’s main goal in serving the City of Jacksonville is to base all of his decisions on the principles of faith, family and fiscal responsibility.
