Candidate: Danny Becton

Daniel A. Becton - Danny Becton is the President and founder of Planogramming Solutions, Inc., an international consulting and outsourcing solutions company founded in 1991 here in Jacksonville, Florida. Danny is married to his wife Linda and has two daughters, Ashlyn age 15 and Lauren age 9. Danny earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business Management and Management Information Systems from Valdosta State University. Over the many years, Danny has been involved in many business and community civic organizations. Professionally, he was elected to serve two terms as the charter President of his industry’s worldwide SIG (Special Interest Group) organization, whose purpose is to drive innovation, development and communication among hundreds of companies. Danny has authored articles within his profession and is known as a leader and acknowledged veteran in the retail industry, specializing in the field of retail space management over his 32+ year career. Since 2007, Danny has served as the CPAC (Citizens Planning Advisory Committee) representative for his homeowner community. This position has allowed him to represent his community within the Southeast Planning District 3 and promote communication between his community and our Jacksonville City government. Within the surrounding community, Danny has also served as charter President of Better Baymeadows, Inc., a nonprofit public/private partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation, which worked to support the Baymeadows businesses and neighborhoods to improve mobility, economic vitality and aesthetics. Danny served as Chair of the executive committee of the Baymeadows Community Council, leading that organization’s community leaders of over 700 residents and businesses surrounding Baymeadows Golf Course. This group was instrumental in stopping a proposed redevelopment project that threatened the quality of life and the economic impact of a vitally sensitive area. Other recent community service includes an appointment by the City of Jacksonville’s Planning and Development Director to serve on the District 3 Southeast Vision Planning Steering Committee. This Committee’s role was instrumental in providing the community’s “Vision Document,” which will provide the guiding principles and input into the 2030 Comprehensive Plan and its implementation within our district for many years to come. Danny also serves on multiple educational school advisory committees including: Mandarin Oaks Elementary as Vice-Chair, Mandarin High School and on the Business School Advisory Board at Valdosta State University. Danny also served on the Atlantic Coast High School’s Boundary Working Group committee this past year, helping develop the boundaries and solve the overcrowding of high schools within the Southside and Beaches. Atlantic Coast High is the first new high school in Duval County in 20 years. In 2008, Danny was elected to the board of directors for the Deercreek Owners Association, which manages the finances, covenants and supporting infrastructures that help meet the needs of its 739 properties and residents. In 2009 and again in 2010, Danny was elected to serve as President of the Board for the Deercreek Owners Association. During Danny’s two Presidential terms, he has been praised for his leadership, organizational and fiscal management.
