Candidate: Jim Love

Jim Love grew up in a military family and learned from a young age the value of public service. Love attended Auburn University on an NROTC scholarship. From there he worked his way up in the United States Navy from flight school to Mediterranean Sea deployments, all the way to the rank of captain in the Naval Reserve. Love has been a member of the Naval Reserve Association and the Association of Naval Aviation since 1984. He has also received Commanding Officer awards and a Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding service to the Naval Reserve. Love, a Republican, has a strong history of commitment to his community and country. He was a founding member of the Park and King Association and also served as its president and vice president. The group affected improvements such as brick sidewalks and proper drainage, which led to more businesses and jobs moving to the area. Love is also a member of Riverside Avondale Preservation (RAP), the Downtown Council of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and the Meninak Club of Jacksonville. He has twice been named the \"Small Business Leader of the Year\" by the Downtown Council and has attended the last four Chamber Leadership trips to China, Seattle, Kansas City, and Indianapolis. Love is also a successful businessman with 27 years of experience. In 1983, he started his own State Farm Insurance Agency in the historic district of Riverside. Through hard work, he grew his business and now insures more than 2,500 households. Love is married to Robin Carter Love and they have three sons; Jimmy, Jason and Jonathan.
