Candidate: Glorious Johnson W/D

Glorious Johnson is an Ivy League educated visionary who was born and raised In Jacksonville, Florida. She is one of three children, two girls and a boy, who grew up in a loving middle class home. Her father was a supervisor at the Setzer Food warehouse and had his own small landscaping business and her mother, a school teacher and owner of Ethel\'s Beauty Salon. Glorious is the product of parents who expected greatness from their children. That road to greatness required a good, solid education and strong moral code. Glorious earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Jacksonville University. She went on to earn her first Master’s degree in School Administration and Supervision from Nova University in Florida and her second Master’s Degree in Educational Administration/Organizational Leadership from Columbia University in New York.

 After earning her second Master’s degree, Glorious returned to Jacksonville and began a career in education. Her career included being the Master Admissions Representative at Everest University and Lead Faculty of Jones College where she taught business administration. She would also become the Admissions Representative for the West Campus on Edgewood Avenue. Education being her personal passion, Glorious never retired from teaching but simply moved on to run for public office to better serve the City of Jacksonville and the citizens she loves. Glorious was awarded an Honorary Life Membership from the Florida Parent/Teacher Association before being sworn into public office as a City Councilmember, where she is currently serving out the second of two terms on the Jacksonville City Council. Glorious is a fierce advocate for justice, honesty and transparency in government and demands fair treatment for every citizen in Jacksonville. She has proved her strength of character time and time again. While others in public office were scrutinized for possible wrongdoing by a grand jury, she was lauded by media and authorities for her forthright nature and fearless adherence to the principles of public and personal integrity. No stranger to struggle and hard times, Glorious reminds us of what can be achieved even in the face of the most adverse circumstances. She has the history, education, intellect and moral fiber to carry the city in which she was born and raised into the future with a vision and balance that no other person can offer the City of Jacksonville.
