Candidate: Mike Hogan

I love Jacksonville. I was born, raised, educated, worked, served and have worshipped here all my life. My ancestors were the first permanent settlers and my children and grandchildren are living here now. I want their futures to be bright and their opportunities abundant. To have those things our government must undergo a fiscal change of direction. Our problems have not been revenues, we have had money in abundance, unfortunately we spent money we didn\'t have, and spent money on things we didn’t need. My private industry background of over 30 years, my elected legislative background at the local and state level, my elected administrative service as Tax Collector, my accessibility and personal communications with my constituents have created a bond of trust between my office and those I served, all of which allows me to bring to the table an unmatched wealth of experience and a track record of faithful service. I can control budgets. I can control spending. I can handle labor issues. I can make tough decisions. I can and will guide our great city on a course of fiscal stability and sustainability.
