Candidate: Samantha C. Sanders

Dear fellow Dixie County Citizens,
I humbly come to you to announce that I am running for the Dixie County School Board in District 1 and to ask for your support!
The decision to run for this seat came from a desire that I believe God placed in my heart several years back. I try not to make any decisions without seeking the counsel of my Heavenly Father first and after lots of prayer and talking my desire over with my immediate family it became so clear that now is the time. So here I am asking you, the citizens of Dixie County to make my desire to serve as YOUR voice on the school board to become a reality.
I am a lifelong resident of Dixie County. I was born and raised in Horseshoe Beach. My parents are Sammy and Cheryl Corbin. My parents have 5 children that all live in Dixie County as well. My Dad is the Pastor of New Beginnings of Horseshoe Beach where I am a member. I am married to Brad Sanders who is also a lifelong resident of Dixie. We have been married over 10 years and together we have 5 children, 1 daughter n love(Heavyn), and our first grand baby on his/her way ,coming into our arms @ October 2020 (which I am over the moon with with excitement about). My Husband and I both graduated from DCHS. My oldest Son Dylan is a 2016 DCHS graduate. I have my son Logan who is in 11th grade@ DCHS, My son Kolt who is going into 3rd grade at OTE, My daughter Kally who is going into 2nd grade at OTE, and my baby girl Korbyn, will start Pre-K this coming August at OTE.
My current experience as a successful business owner will help with the budgeting aspect of the school systems. In my research I realize that great responsibility comes with this position. I desire to be an instrument of change in my community. My time that I served as an EMT/PARAMEDIC in Dixie taught me how to serve my community in ways that I have never experienced. I gained so many lifelong friendships. It taught me how to be a leader and fight for what I believed in. I was a voice for every patient and their family, I will say it was the most humbling experience that I have ever endured. I took this precious life that God has blessed me with so for granted, up until I stepped foot on the Ambulance. I truly believe that God was building a true leader in me during this time, for such a time as now. I have a heart to serve this community those that know me, know that when I take this seat, I will give the citizens of Dixie all of my heart and once again serve you all to the fullest!
Great school board members focus on what is best for all students, teachers and staff members. They do NOT focus on the next election when making their decision. Student achievement, implementing policies and procedure, that will give the teachers and the staff the resources, to ensure SUCCESS for ALL students is my # 1 goal. Preparing the next generation of Leaders is very important. I make you the citizens of Dixie County a promise, I will be an ear to listen to your concerns, and a voice to present them before my fellow board members to bring about a solution or change on your behalf. Most importantly I will seek the opinion of the people of Dixie County along with Godly counsel before my votes are cast.
With my children currently in the School Systems I have a very personal reason to want to be YOUR voice and vote for making policy and procedures that will be in the best interest of each and every student, teacher and staff member.
