Candidate's Statement

Please visit: VOTEVERONICA.COM And stop by to visit my Campaign Headquarters - Saturdays 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Except Mothers\' Day Weekend - I\'m a mother and grandmother too. Updated Biography…* Veronica was born on November 2, 1948 (election day), Trenton, NJ; raised in Ewansville, Burlington County, NJ.; attended Vincentown Elementary and graduated from Lenape Regional High School, Medford under the business program. No stranger to work, she began work early in her youth packing blueberries to help with the expenses of her love, horses. Always a country girl at heart, she took pride in working with her mother in the gardens, and planning for the future. During the summer in high school, she began her first office position as clerk for Military Travel Service, Inc., located near Fort Dix (Army) and McGuire Air Force bases. She maintained that position as part of her work experience program and quickly rose to the position as Manager with the opportunity to move to Germany at the main headquarters, the Davis Agency – which she declined to marry PFC Robert Cunningham and moved to Fairbanks, Alaska – home of Eielson Air Force Base. While her husband was stationed there, she worked at the Non-Commissioned Officers’ Club as Head Cashier in charge of the banks of the various departments. Upon returning to Florida, she and her husband moved temporarily to Jacksonville, where she worked for several months with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Shortly thereafter they relocated to Gainesville, where she began employment with the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) Department. Her desire to be more productive and around people, she obtained employment at the local Ford dealership there and met her husband Al Jones. They were together for some 42 years prior to his unfortunate accident in October 2014. Widow of Al Jones, former Sales Manager Howell Chevrolet, Bonifay. Proud mother of Lora Barnes, former Washington County Administrator / current teacher in Bay County; Troy Cunningham, owner and operator of Teddy Bear Timber Company (The Sawmill Man) in Vernon / Vice President WorldWide Drilling Resource, Inc. / retired Lieutenant of Panama City Fire Department; Wade Jones, flight medic, Shands Teaching Hospital, Gainesville; Debra Baker, Spanish Fort, AL. VERONICA is currently Co-Founder, CEO, and President of WorldWide Drilling Resource, Inc., the international trade magazine for all aspects of drilling, located in Bonifay. She has been a resident of beautiful Washington County for 21 years, having moved from rural Levy County in 1995 to the Vernon area, currently resides at 3190A Highway 277, Vernon. Ran for County Commissioner District 3 in 2000 prior to the county-wide voting privileges being invoked. During their marriage, Veronica and Al had many endeavors – from owning and operating a used car dealership in Bronson, FL to raising Arabian as well as Paint horses, Senepol cattle, building and/or renovating several homes, and basically enjoying everything that came their way. **Veronica is a volunteer, and has been for many years. Her two years with Volunteers In Service To America (VISTA) began her volunteerism with Literacy Volunteers of Washington County. Now she donates computers, printers, and supplies to the efforts and looks forward to spending additional time with the valiant effort. Veronica has decided, even with her position as CEO – President of WorldWide Drilling Resource, Inc., she would like to spend additional time and energy helping her fellow citizens at home here in Washington County. She feels County-Wide Voting should mean County-Wide Representation from each and every commissioner and pledges as your County Commissioner for District 3, she will uphold that belief and treat each and everyone the same – with the same rights as anyone else, no matter who, where, or their stature in life. VERONICA is running under her “given” name so as not to cause any confusion with other candidates. She asks for your signature on the Candidate Petition to allow her the privilege of running for office for you; and further for YOUR VOTE as that time arrives.
