Candidate: Patricia Lynn Gothard

My name is Patricia \"Lynn\" Gothard and I was born and raised in Washington County. I attended Kate Smith Elementary School, Roulhac Middle School and graduated from Chipley High School. I attended Chipola Jr College where I received my AA degree. I am married to Al Gothard and we have three children Heather(Brenan)Clark, Ben(Brittnie)West and Matt(Nikki)Gothard. I also have 7 grandchildren all of whom live in Washington County. My parents Bj (Margie)Phillips and Geraline (Joe) Tharp, two siblings and numerous relatives in Washington County. Because of my family history, I care very deeply for the values and character of our county. I love living in Washington County! I am a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and I am an active volunteer for the Guardian Ad Litem program which represents abused and neglected children in the court system. In 2012 I was elected to the Board of County Commissioners as the District 5 representative. As your County Commissioner I have sought to make good financial decisions for our county and have asked for and received public input before I voted on issues affecting our way of life. God has richly blessed our County with over 20 million dollars in state and federal money to improve life in Washington County during the past three years. We are currently building a new school, a much needed new courthouse, we are currently paving three heavily traveled roads and now have certified fulltime volunteer firefighters in two stations in the County. The Commission has appropriated approximately $96,000.00 over the next 20 years for economic development to encourage and entice businesses to come to Washington County. We have paid over 3.5 million dollars of debt during the past three years. Although we have had many successes, we still have work to do and I am asking for your help to continue the work throughout the next four years. I would appreciate your vote.
