Candidate: Tyneka M. Rene

District 2 Candidate Tyneka Rene, born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, relocated to south Florida in 2003. She attended Broward College and shortly after, shipped off to the US Army from the Miami MEPS station. She Served in the US Army from 2005 until 2012 where her Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) was a Medic (68W). During her time in the Army, she earned numerous awards and decorations to include Soldier of the Month, Several Army Commendation Medals and Several Army Achievement Medals. Tyneka is also a combat Veteran serving overseas for over 15 months in Bagdad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 06-08. After leaving the Army, Tyneka decided to continue her service with the federal government and did the noble thing, helping other Veterans like herself, she worked for the Dept of Veterans Affairs in many different capacities. Tyneka holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental management, a Master’s in Healthcare Administration and is a Licensed Full Specialist and Boutique Day Spa Owner in the Great City of Tamarac. Her Spa, Face the World Esthetics and Nail Care is a Boutique Day Spa servicing men and women, offering manicures, pedicure, facials, waxing, eyelash and eyebrow services.

Tyneka is married with 3 children ages, 23, 21, and 12. She enjoys jogging, singing karaoke, roller skating and caring for her hefty indoor plant collection.
