
Steven Oleksy is a devoted husband, proud father of twins, Edgewater resident, and former professional hockey player whose 15-year career culminated in winning the coveted Stanley Cup. Throughout his career, Steven built a reputation as a leader, team player, and someone who knows how to bring people together to solve problems and achieve common goals.
Today, he dedicates much of his time to mentoring young athletes through hockey camps and youth leagues in both Michigan and Florida, helping teach the values of discipline, respect, teamwork, and perseverance to the next generation. He is also a part owner of the Florida Surge, further demonstrating his commitment to youth development, athletics, and building strong communities.
Steven is deeply committed to preserving Edgewater’s unique character, natural beauty, wildlife, and outdoor spaces while supporting responsible growth and a strong local economy. Known by friends and neighbors as kind, thoughtful, level-headed, and approachable, he believes leadership begins with listening. His goal is to serve all residents with common sense, respect, fiscal responsibility, and a practical, community-first approach that puts people ahead of politics.
