Candidate: CHRISTOPHER HILEMAN

Throughout my life I've been surrounded by educators, finding out their needs and wants to make life as an educator a job they look forward too. I have 4 daughters that have been educated in Sumter County, two that have graduated, with one being a teacher at South Sumter Middle School. I have two daughters still in school, a high schooler, and a middle schooler. My mission is to continue to assist in creating an environment of highly successful schools. I've been serving in our federal government for 25 years now. Serving in the military and now as a federal law enforcement officer. I see the change in the safety of our schools and community. I plan on bringing my law enforcement experience to this position to help in assisting the school board and local law enforcement in keeping our children and grandchildren safe. I will work closely with school resource officers and safety officers so our reaction in the event of an alert, secures our children and faculty in a safe position. The safety and education of our children are first and foremost. The educators are a priority also. I want the teachers to know how valuable they are and find satisfaction in what they do. Teachers that are happy will help encourage a classroom full of students eager to learn.
