Candidate: Flagler Forever

The Flagler Forever Committee was formed to promote the passage of the Clean Water and Environmentaly Sensitive Land Preservation referendum on the November 4th general election ballot. The committee members are citizens dedicated to continuing to protect our clean water and the natural beauty of Flagler County before it is lost forever. The land acquisition program in Flagler County has been in existence for twenty years and has succeeded in preserving 4200 acres. The program has leveraged local funds on a two to one ratio, providing matching funds for grants from the State and other governmental agencies. Future land acquisitions will focus on expanding public access to the ocean, the Intracoastal Waterway, Bulow Creek, Longs Creek, Lake Disston, and Dead Lake and protecting water recharge areas and wildlife habitat.
