Candidate: Natalie Alden

Mother of two and a grandmother, Natalie believes in family values. Natalie has advocated for Veterans with disabilities in her professional position and as a member of the Mayor’s Disability Council. Her father is a disabled Vietnam veteran and she has a nephew who just graduated Army Ranger school.

She volunteered with the Boy Scouts for 8+ years while her boys worked to make Eagle Scout.  Natalie graduated from Sandalwood and received Mayor’s Hazouri’s Exceptional Student Award, as well as, the national “Yes I Can!” award.

Natalie has worked in the disability field for over thirty years and has led initiatives to improve access for citizens with disabilities throughout Jacksonville and the state of Florida. Natalie was appointed to the Mayor’s Disability Council by Mayor John Peyton and has served on the council for almost 20 years. She is currently serving as Vice-Chair of the Mayor’s Disability Council for Mayor Lenny Curry.  

She also serves on several state advisory boards to enhance the lives of persons with disabilities.

Currently, she is responsible for monitoring and managing fiscal audits and compliance reviews for the Social Security Administration on their Representative Payee Program to prevent abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.
