Candidate: SCOTT THOMASON

Scott has been happily married to Betsy for close to twenty years and they have four daughters. Scott has a son who lives in South Florida after serving two tours in Afghanistan while serving in the United States Army. Scott is currently the President of the Fort White Area Chamber of Commerce, a Columbia County Firefighter Reservist and a proud Mason belonging to Cherry Hill Lodge no. 12 in Fort White. Scott is the Head Coach of Fort White Middle School Soccer and has coached several seasons with the Fort White Girls Softball Association. Scott Thomason has been employed as the Building Official and Director of Planning and Development of a local municipality, which provided him with a unique look at the inner-workings of local government. In his first year there he utilized his business experience and led his department from losing over $75,000 a year to a budget surplus of almost $240,000, a huge turn-around that was desperately needed. Scott received a gubernatorial appointment to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation Construction Industry Licensing Board in December of 2015. The board meets monthly, dealing with construction contractor licensing and discipline issues. Since his initial appointment he has progressed to chairing the Additional Business Entity\'s Panel for Division Two contractors and serving on the CEU Panel.
